چکیده
Hiermit erkläre ich, dass ich diese Arbeit selbstständig verfasst habe und keine anderen als die angegebenen Quellen und Hilfsmittel verwendet habe. Abstract Semantic space models are computational representations of word meaning based on co‐occurrence counts from large corpus data. This means that the meaning of each word is described by the contexts in which it occurs. Although these data‐driven models have proven to be well suited for capturing a wide range of semantic information (such as similarity of synonyms and relevance of correlating words), the meaning aspects they cover have not been fully explored. This thesis examines the suitability of automatically built semantic space mod‐ els for representing meaning in terms of frame semantics, an empirical seman‐ tic theory that emphasizes on the relation between language and experience.

Towards a Vector Space Model for FrameNet-like Resources
In this paper, we present an original framework to model frame semantic resources (namely, FrameNet) using minimal supervision. This framework can be leveraged both to expand an existing FrameNet with new knowledge, and to induce a FrameNet in a new language. Our hypothesis is that a frame semantic resource can be modeled and represented by a suitable semantic space model. The intuition is that...
متن کاملManifold Learning for the Semi-Supervised Induction of FrameNet Predicates: An Empirical Investigation
This work focuses on the empirical investigation of distributional models for the automatic acquisition of frame inspired predicate words. While several semantic spaces, both word-based and syntaxbased, are employed, the impact of geometric representation based on dimensionality reduction techniques is investigated. Data statistics are accordingly studied along two orthogonal perspectives: Late...
متن کاملFrameNet Translation Using Bilingual Dictionaries with Evaluation on the English-French Pair
Semantic Role Labeling cannot be performed without an associated linguistic resource. A key resource for such a task is the FrameNet resource based on Fillmore’s theory of frame semantics. Like many linguistic resources, FrameNet has been built by English native speakers for the English language. To overcome the lack of such resources in other languages, we propose a new approach to FrameNet tr...
متن کاملA Frames Approach to Semantic Analysis
In this chapter, we contrast a broad use of the term frame in cognitive science from its related use in a type of linguistic analysis; we describe the principles and data structure of a particular research project (FrameNet) as a model for representing frame-based analyses of lexical meanings; we briefly introduce an extension of the project to include the semantic contributions of grammatical ...
متن کاملRepresenting Caused Motion in Embodied Construction Grammar
This paper offers an Embodied Construction Grammar (Feldman et al. 2010) representation of caused motion, thereby also providing (a sample of) the computational infrastructure for implementing the information that FrameNet has characterized as Caused_motion (Ruppenhofer et al. 2010). This work specifies the semantic structure of caused motion in natural language, using an Embodied Construction ...
